The successful implementation of the project Le Phoenix at the corner of the boulevards Marcel-Laurin and Henri-Bourassa has been possible due to the synergy established between the main players, confirming that the trend towards greener buildings is a phenomenon that is on the rise in the construction industry. In this particular case, the three mainstake holders (the City of Montréal, the property developer and the firm of architects ) have seized the opportunity to carry out an exemplary project in the matter of energy economy and resources aiming for LEED Silver certification.
The site is particularly well suited to the aviability of such a project as it involved the decontamination of land that had welcomed a gas station for many years. The proximity of a station contributed to reduce the residents' dependence on a car. Particular attention has been given towards controlling the surrounding noise (proximity to a train line and to the airport).
